The Department of Business Administration, operating under the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences at Yalova University, has achieved a significant milestone. As a result of the evaluation process conducted by the Social, Humanities and Basic Sciences Accreditation and Rating Association (STAR), the undergraduate programs in Business Administration (Turkish) and Business Administration (English) have been accredited for a period of four years, valid between March 11, 2026 and March 11, 2030.
This achievement not only demonstrates that the programs meet established quality standards, but also reflects the outcome of long-standing, planned, systematic, and continuous improvement efforts carried out within the Department of Business Administration at Yalova University.
This accreditation also holds particular importance for Yalova University. For the first time in the university’s history, an bachelor’s degree program has been accredited, and the Business Administration (Turkish) and Business Administration (English) programs have become the first accredited bachelor’s degreeprograms both within the faculty and across the university.
During the accreditation process, numerous aspects were thoroughly evaluated, including program learning outcomes, curriculum structure, assessment and evaluation practices, academic staff qualifications, student-centered approaches, stakeholder involvement, and continuous improvement mechanisms. This result clearly demonstrates the Department’s commitment to educational quality and its institutional development approach.
Prof. Dr. Selami ÖZCAN, Head of the Department of Business Administration, stated in his remarks that this achievement is the result of collective effort and institutional alignment, and he expressed his gratitude to all academic and administrative staff who contributed to the process. He also emphasized that the accreditation will further strengthen the quality of education in the department and serve as a strong source of motivation for future initiatives.
Through this accreditation, the quality of the educational environment provided to our students has been further enhanced, while also offering an important assurance of quality for our graduates in their academic and professional journeys. Moreover, this achievement will contribute to the national and international visibility and academic reputation of the Department of Business Administration at Yalova University.
